Casa Monica, St. Augustine, St. Augustine Airport - KSGJ

Quickly becoming a favorite weekend getaway for my wife and myself, St. Augustine never disappoints. We usually stay at Casa Monica. Its an old grand hotel, with a great restaurant (95 Cordova) and a fun cocktail lounge. Rooms are nicely decorated, clean and quiet. The lobby is beautiful as well.

When reserving (don't do it online-call) ask for the Florida resident rate. Its about 20 percent cheaper, and the same room offering.

Dinner at the hotel is nice, but don't be afraid to check out the other local restaurants.
The Old City House (right next door on Cordova) offers great food, with extremely helpful staff and barkeeps. Try to avoid the chain eateries... you can get that food anywhere.

The hotel is about a 10 minute ($15) cab ride from the airport, and the FBO handles the cab for you. The old fort (well worth the tour) the historic district, artists in the park, and the lighthouse are all there for you to enjoy.

There always seems to be something fun happening in the city. Upon our departure, we always discuss our next return. Enjoy this gem.
