The American Grille, Lakeland - KLAL

The American Grille is located in the Hilton Garden Inn at Lakeland Regional. It's somewhere that you can fly to and enjoy a decent meal. Its not Tony's. You cannot see the runway from the restaurant. But since we seem to be running out of options in central Florida, and most of the decent ones have vanished, thought that we'd give this one a try.

Party of three on a Thursday at 11:30AM.
Reuben on Rye with fries. Think about what it should taste like, and it did.
Chicken club. Came with a nice assortment of fruit chunks. Seemed to be the hit of the table.
Turkey sandwich. She seemed to enjoy it.
No one got sick, bitched, moaned or whined.
Beverages and tip - 36 bucks.

Service was a little slow. Only one waitress on staff, and she seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Seems that when Tony's closed, it closed so abruptly that even the staff didn't know about it until reading the local paper. With that said, the old manager and one of the waitresses are now working at the Grille.

Don't forget that Aeromech is right there as well, and you can combine the trip and save the shipping on that case of oil that you really needed.

Give this place 4 stars. OK food, very clean, predictable prices, but slow service, and its not Tony's. Its a food place in a Hilton Garden hotel, but hey, you can fly to it...
