Venice Beach and Sharky's On the Pier, Venice (KVNC)

Venice Beach is Dog Friendly

Everyone has reviewed Sharky's and the on field restaurants. What hasn't been mentioned is that Venice Beach is Dog Friendly. If your like me and my aviator canine, we are always looking for fun places to fly. Most of the time we settle for an FBO who hands out doggie treats. Try this destination out for size.

Our favorite beach fly in destination is dog friendly. No growls about it.

Take your favorite dog flying, complete with dog slobber on the windows, a brief 15 minute walk to the beach, and walk about 100 yards to the left of the fishing pier. Dogs are allowed off leash, and the ocean is their oyster. Don't be afraid to let them go. They just want to spend the day being a dog. They'll come back. Bring an extra towel, just for the halibut. On a good day, don't be surprised by over 100 dogs of all sizes. Its great fun watching them interact with each other, and letting their tails down. Be sure to bring all of your usual doggie trip supplies.

We dine at Sharky's with our dog. Heres how to do it. Sharky's has an outside picnic area away from the restaurant. Get your order 'to go' and enjoy it outside with your well behaved best friend. This is a little tough to negotiate alone, but with a friend or assistant, its no problem. After the round trip walk and a couple of hours swimming and running, they will surely settle down on the flight back home.

We give this place 6 paws.
