Saturday, April 12, 2008 Calling all pilots and airplane enthusiasts!! The small town of Umatilla, FL will be hosting it's second fly-in at the Umatilla Airport (X23), Saturday, April 12, 2008 in conjunction with the central Florida Black Bear Festival. Come see a static display of airplanes and possibly even the U.S. Army's Firehawk! Located on Skyline Drive in Umatilla, FL 32784. This event is FREE and open to the public!! For more information direct your questions to Carl Vossberg, (352) 669-3101 or vossberg@electronmachine.com PAST EVENTS March 15 - SAAPA, The Saint Augustine Airport Pilots Association, presents a fly-in breakfast from 8:00-10:30, Saturday March 15. Aircraft parking space is limited at the clubhouse, so pilots should inform the tower that they are attending the breakfast event. They will then be directed to secure parking on taxiway F, and then will be transported a short distance to the club by golf cart. February 15 - Valkaria Airfest 2008, Valkaria X59 http://www.eaa1288.org/ValkariaAirFest/ February 9 & 10 - The SGJ Seaplane Fly In will occur on February 9-10, from 10:00 to 2:00. St. Augustine Airport has constructed a new Seaplane Ramp and floating docks on the east side of the field, on the Intracoastal Waterway. Meet up with old friends. Make new ones! Ramp cookout February 9 from 10 to 2, with door/ramp prizes. Ghost Tour & Wax Museum Tickets, Seaplane Association Prizes. Grand Prize: Complimentary stay at a Historic Bed & Breakfast. There are floating docks for 6 aircraft. Additional mooring upon request. Plenty of ramp space for amphibians. 100LL fuel available at the airport self-serve facilities located near the tower. Full service fuel available from Galaxy Aviation FBO-(904)824-1995. Special hotel $99 rate at Hampton Inn & Suites Oceanfront Resort in Vilano Beach for Saturday night.
